A question about a database

Hi, question first, are all the planets and such saved on a database and so everyone can see the same planet in the same galaxy and so forth, because I have an idea to map (well really name) objects, like you post the Location code and a image of what you want to name and we keep somewhat of a database of that here?

That's if the answer is yes to my original question.

SE uses procedural generation - this means that all the univese is defined by a single number, and all players see the same universe every time. No database is required, engine automatically builds the same universe every time you start SE.

First-time poster. This seemed like the best place to ask this question.

I've been a big fan of SE for a while now, and have built a fairly substantial database of discovered worlds. I just upgraded to a much faster computer with a kickin' graphics card, and I'm looking forward to seeing everything in even more detail. I'd like to transfer my discoveries from the laptop I've been using to the new computer. How exactly do I go about accomplishing that? (When I tried exporting the .db file from the laptop and importing on the new computer, it said it couldn't save the file. Don't know what that means.)

Thanks for your help.

Just copy your db file. If you use the same version of SE, everything must work.
