Please post here all of your reports about bugs or crashes in SpaceEngine. Before you post any bugs, please follow these steps:

  • First of all, make sure you make a clean install of SpaceEngine and update your video card drivers. This may solve 99% of all isues.
  • Read the Fixing common issues section below. It is possible that your problem can be solved there.
  • Read the List of known issues section below and make sure that your bugs are not on in it. You can use your browser's word finder to help search the list.
  • If the bug is not on the list then please post it in this thread. Attach to your message a screenshot (if possible) and a log file (it's called the se.log and is located in the SpaceEngine/system/ directory). Only the log file will help us to understand your problem and find a solution!

    Fixing videocard-specific issues

If you do not know which videocard do you have, open the system/se.log file in the text editor and read the Vendor information in the beginning:

    INITIALIZING OPENGL
    [MT] Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.

Then look for a solution for you:

    Nvidia: Major lag spikes

ATI/AMD: Transparent or invisible planets, no landscape

ATI/AMD: Crash on approaching to the black hole, neutron star or white dwarf, on using ship's hyperdrive, or when enabling the Oculus Rift mode or the Fish Eye mode

Intel HD: Glitchy landscape and textures on planets

    Intel HD: Crash near planets

Intel HD: Red clouds on Earth

    Fixing common issues

    1) Obsolete or incompatible drivers or strange error message "(NULL) 2.1 (NULL)"

    2) Weak system

    3) System with hybrid graphics (NVidia/ATI + Intel HD)

    4) Artifacts on procedural planets

    5) Frequent crashing while generating planetary surface

    6) Spaceship disappears when far from a star

    7) Blurry textures on Solar system planets

    8) Crash on entering the Display menu

    9) Problems with very high resolution displays

    List of known issues

Green items have been fixed for the next release

Not real bugs, but effects caused by limitations in the engine:

    Real bugs:

hello, I just installed SE .9.7.2 with the installer but I ran into trouble when I launched the game. The install went fine, but when I launched it I got an error (look at attachments). My specs are Windows 7 SP1, 4 Gigs of RAM, it is a 32-bit OS and processor, and finally here are my CPU specs: Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5400 @2.70 GHz and 2.70 GHz.

    thank you

josephhand6200, this error is actually associated with your video card / drivers, not your processor or RAM. Check that your drivers are up to date, and that your card is compatible with SE. (SE doesn't work with integrated graphics, for instance).

There's more info specifically for this problem in the opening post as well, see "Fixing Common Issues".

I have this weird problem that when I want to go to a star the screen sometimes goes black and the distance shows something like 9789347593498 Gly : wacko
I had this problem before but after I installed the All Planets Texture Pack it has happened WAY more often.

I'm sorry if this question has been answered before but I just can't find a solution to it sad

Warzenschwein, this is the wrong thread for this bug report - you're running version 0.9.7.4b, this thread is for 0.9.7.2.

The correct thread for reporting 0.9.7.4b issues is this one.

You can find your log file in the system folder. It is either called "log" or "se"

Sry if its a specific versions Problem, but i have the problem since 0.9.7.2 so i post it here:

SE keeps crashing with no reasons, and i get this Error Message in the Event Logs:

Its allways some Issue with NTDLL.exe file
I googled it, and i`m not sure if it has something to do with the SE or the Userd engine, cause i found some other threads related to my search that are mentioning the Unreal Engine Editor... Sometimes it keeps crashing when i am on a planet, and sometimes when im in Space, traveling, turning around.... I downloaded also the 9.7.3 Patch, but the error still occurs.

    Her the Windows Event Log:

    Name of the Application: SpaceEngine.exe,
    Version: 0.9.7.3,
    Timestamp: 0x55303748
Name of the Error Module: ntdll.dll, Version: 6.1.7601.18247,
    Timestamp: 0x521ea8e7
    Code: 0xc0000005
    Error Offset: 0x0002e3be

ID of the Error Application: 0x57c
Start Time of the Error-Application: 0x01d0c31ea6f1a35f
    Path to the Error-Application: D:\SpaceEngine 0.972\system\SpaceEngine.exe
    Path to the Error-Module: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll
    Berichtskennung: e6d472eb-2f16-11e5-9d8c-c860005ee65d

Does someone encountered the same behavior ?

    My System:

    I2500k
Sapphire ATI HD 6800 1GB VRam (Newest Driver)
    16 GB Ram (DDR 800)
    MSI Mainboard
    S-ATA 300 HDD
