Try to turn threaded optimization off for SE in Nvidia control panel (or Nvidia Inspector, etc.), and in SE open the console and type "set maxthreads x" where x is something less than the number of threads you're currently using. This may fix performance issues.

Didn't seem to have any effect. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Confirmed working.

GTX 750ti.

344.48.

For those who it isn't working, try a clean install. I don't know where the calculated shaders are stored, they were messed up - deleting cache didn't work, but clean install worked.

but texture stuttering on Saturn's rings

That's normal, it happens in all versions of SE regardless of what drivers you use. It's only visible when viewing rings nearly face-on.

GTX 770, Driver version: 344.48. Result: Does not work. Problems: Stars are merely coronae, planets invisible, constant changing of colors ("Rainbow effect")

(Just opened a thread on this and have been redirected here...)

You say it is 'normal', but this seems actually like a bug; which, by the way, I could not find in the "known issues" list...

It can be very annoying in videos, where it disrupts the feeling of witnessing a realistic space flight...

This is not a bug (just artifact of the rings rendering system), but it should be added to the list indeed...

Nvidia GTX 260 with driver 340.52 shows no change. Both Space Engine 9.7.0 and 9.7.1 installed correctly but when launched again planets do not show. Auroras show, but no planets. Both versions were uninstalled and then reinstalled and the same thing happens...first launch is ok, subsequent launches show no planets.

I'm currently on 344.60 beta driver with a GTX 970. Will test now. Going to report back with results.

EDIT:

With the bugfix it seems to work almost properly, except for some heavy loading stutters, some graphical glitches like sunshafts flickering and randomly changing brightness as also texture glitches. But it's playable.
