Will the unmapped one be procedurally generated?

The planets that isn't fully mapped such as Pluto-Charon Barycenter.

Do you know what a barycenter is?

I think he was referring to the bodies orbiting said barycenter, i.e. the "Pluto-Charon system." In other words, he wants to know if, for other existing bodies which lack surface maps (I don't know if there actually are any), a procedural terrain map will be generated so it doesn't show up as a featureless gray sphere, as Pluto and Charon did in the past.

Also, if I may, will or can the recent mountain tweak (by Rodrigo I think) be integrated as well?

And I like the new Y and cool T dwarfs, but I've noticed that in binary systems they tend to show up all black, which is odd considering that red giants in close binaries reflect light from their companions. Are efforts underway to make the dwarfs reflect light as well?

I don't recall them ever appearing that way, they always had procedural textures. Unless you mean in a beta patch where SpaceEngineer forgot to include the maps?

LookAtDatDakka, New Horizons only got a good look at one side of Pluto. We don't know what the other side looks like, and probably won't for a few more decades.

There isn't one. Since you're new, you probably missed this, but this thread contains a lot of updates on what SpaceEngineer and the gang have been doing in addition to actual patch downloads. There won't be a link until, well, there's a link, and if history says anything we can all rest assured it'll be easy to spot.

While you're here, make sure to drop by the Introductions thread and say hi!

A minor request, could a frame limiter be implemented in the menu screens? I am requesting because I get a very large amount of coil whine from my GTX 970 in the startup menu. This is only a minor issue and as always, these are awesome updates!

What about the red giant shader mod?

It is not realistic, so will not be included by default.

HarbingerDawn, had Titan's texture been fixed?

Yes.

Will the unmapped one be procedurally generated?

Of course no. Implementing such feature would be one of the most great update of the engine, so it even deserves its own page in the news. You will not miss it then it happen.

They do reflect light. Plants have slightly different lighting system, but dwarfs do reflect light from another stars in a system. Just find some not very wide G + T system and look.

I definitely support that notion. Furthermore, Rodrigo's Terrain Mods have to be implemented as a standard for SpaceEngine:

http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-1994-1

That mod has been around for a while proven itself as being stable (as far as I know).

Another definite improvement are Klud's new dunes:

http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-3271-1

Has also been around for a bit now, and definitely delivers better results than the sterile, rhythmic dunes we have now.

Playing around, found two more bugs. The first one, where the sky is replaced by an extremely stretched piece of terrain, seems to be extremely rare and it only happens when waiting for the terrain to generate at very specific camera angles. The second one (bugged terrain) is also rare but is permanent in the terrain, it doesn't go away even after waiting for it to render completely.

I do agree that some mods could be integrated into the release, and while I understand why unrealistic mods shouldn't be included, a few ones like Klud's dunes look like straight-up improvements over stock in every way. I'm not the astronomer here though, so this is just my opinion.

Born too early to explore space... But just in time for Space Engine.

Brown dwarfs are less beautiful than before, it's a shame , because this is what I preferred before .

I think they are more beautiful and realistic. The only thing I don't understand is how some of them can be completely black while lighting up planets and having a magnitude of -16 when up close.
