SpaceEngineer, are you planning to make Klud's shader mod for selenas and asteroid as deafult setting in SpaceEngine?

Love SpaceEngine!

I already integrated them in some degree (just take an idea).

Update for Brown dwarfs #3: Smooth transition from M class stars to jovian planets.

Remember this rendering of the late M9.9 dwarf?

Now the Brown dwarf sequence is:

L1

L3

L6

L9

T2

T5

T8

Y0

Y3

Also a new feature what may be liked by mod makers: stationary position for planetary bodies. Now you can type this in the star/planet/asteroid script instead of Orbit {} tag:

StaticPosXYZ ( 1000 2000 3000 )

or

FixedPosXYZ ( 1000 2000 3000 )

First make object to stay in rest relative to ParentBody center, second - relative to ParentBody surface (ie rotate with the parent body like if was glued to it). Polar coordinates also supported by StaticPosPol and FixedPosPol (I found them more convenient than xyz). Planet editor supports this features now (and also accretion disks).

StaticPosXYZ (0 0 0) now can replace Orbit { Type "Static" } for single star in the system (a single star located in the fictive system barycenter). Even more convenient feature - you may simply not type any Orbit {} or StaticPos, and SE will assign StaticPosXYZ (0 0 0) for it automatically.

Some weird features what could be made with this:

Camera and ships are interacted with stationary objects correctly:

But don't try to enter orbit around planet fixed relative to another planet/star: this have no sense in reality, thus no stable orbit is possible there.

Some cool thing what can be implemented in SE in future: the star types chart (all brown dwarf screenshots are made in this test system):

Attempt to make the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram:

For this systems, the new script parameter NoLighting true was added to disable illumination of stars by another stars. O-class stars just made dwarfs glow with hot blue smile I also probably must do something with star particles, to prevent them become too large.

Also, planet chart like this could be useful. Such star/planet charts in SE could be added somewhere to the wiki.

stationary position for planetary bodies.

Ha! Just what I always wanted to suggest, if I had dared. biggrin
One of many. wink

NICE! The transition is beautiful, and the idea of stationary objects has me very excited. biggrin

All you need in life are space games and typhlosions.

Brown dwarfs look so inviting, Like the L1 and the y dwarfs. Rouge planets next?

In my opinion, the best thing that ca be implemented is the custom chart. You can sort the object along three parameters (there are three dimensions in space) you choose. For example, a mass/size diagram, a brightness/temperature diagram…
