A quasar is a supermassive black hole at the center of a galaxy with an extremely bright accretion disk.

Thanks for the explanation. So are there black holes without accretion disks?

I am worknig on new black holes

OMG cry surprised . And I thought Doctor of Space and JackDole's work on black holes and accretion disk was really good. Not implying that it is not wink . But this.. this is beyond our wildest dreams.

you can approach them up to the event horizon and see how Universe collapses into point above you

That's something I've been missing. Now only remains the question, when I get down to the black hole, I will then also pulled in the length? biggrin

Don't forget to look here.

Did You mean it is possiblle to cross the event horizon now?

Yes, but if this happen, SE will crash together with Windows, and all data on hard drive will be destroyed. So don't try to cross the event horizon :)

will every black hole have the accretion disk or just some of them?

Only some black holes will have accretion disks.

Quote Salvo ()
Also are the accretion disks flat like planetary rings? :)

Yes they are flat right now, but maybe I will improve the code to support volumetric disks.

In future updates, ships will have a lot of possibilities to be destroyed: ripped apart by tidal forces, evaporated by strong acretion disk emission, or by 1 million degrees plasma, crushed into debris moving at near-c velocity, etc. There will be almost to chance to cross the event horizon.

Then I'm reassured when it is only that. I need a new computer soon anyway. I had feared, the computer would inverted from outside to inside, me and my house and my town suck afterwards. Although, when I'm gone, the rest also plays no role. cool

Imagine if there was gravity attraction to camera too... It would be very hard to escape from black holes, and computer death would be almost inevitable biggrin

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

Pretty working SpaceEngineer.
I do not know if the accretion disk emits light (as soon as it is drawn star and brown dwarf quite brilliant) or not (another body). And there will be a tutorial for how to put them ?
I hope I do not ask too many questions in advance and I wish you well for your work of this incredible software.

You could easily fake this using spacecraft and UFO mode. In fact I will make this mod right now smile

Maybe you can put an "invisible wall" to avoid that one goes too deep, to avoid Windows bug and especially the hard drive is destroyed or otherwise at some point, it shows only black and it is above all also that knows nothing after crossing the horizon and events to "remove" the dark, simply back out of the black hole (unrealistic in reality as it is drawn unless if goes faster than light, perhaps ?), not to mention that after there is the space-time curvature that will be more difficult to implement if it is (not to mention all the space-body deforms more or less time).

Oops, I did not get the joke, I thought it was serious.
But speaking of the hole, there will soon be white hole and wormhole ?
