Now (almost) all 3D modes are ready! Here screenshots:

No 3D:

Anaglyph:

Vertical anamorphic stereopair with interlacing:

Horizontal anamorphic stereopair with interlacing:

Vertical anamorphic stereopair:

Horizontal anamorphic stereopair:

Oculus Rift:

You can see a lot of settings in each mode, main of them are interpupillary distance, 3D depth, swap left/right, interface depth and size (for Oculus). In anaglyph mode you can adjust color mask to match it with your glasses. Funny thing that I have Oculus Rift and 3D TV, but don't have anaglyph glasses smile I can't test that last image, but as long as it match with anamorphic stereopairs by geometry, i think it must work. Also, active (shutter) 3D mode is not implemented, this is my next step.

The Anaglyph mode shows reversed depth. Other than that, all other modes (except the Oculus one which I can't test now) are looking great. (I didn't test Interlaced modes because JPG compression broke the lines)

Really? Who else have anaglyph glasses?

He's correct, switch the filters around.

EDIT:

It's not the filters, the bottom one gives more depth to my eyes. It's something else but I can't put my finger on it.

Yes it is. Look at the screenshots he posted with the glasses on normally. Clearly they don't look right. Now, put your glasses on upside down, so you switch which eye uses which filter. They look much better.

For red-cyan anaglyph, when something is "behind" the screen, the cyan image should appear to the right of the red image. When it is "in front of" the screen, the opposite is true. As you can see, on his, they are reversed. So he simply needs to switch them.

This is awesome work, but the interlaced one seems, in my opinion, outdated. You don't see many HD interlaced TVs, only progressive ones, not around here anyway.

I have interlaced TV. This is currently used technology. Of course, it supports vertical anamorphic stereopair as native format, but you must switch TV to 3D mode with remote control. If engine can render interlaced image, it is even better - you don't need to switch anything. However, my TV have some sort of sharpness filter that cannot be switched off, so interlaced image is useless (this filter mixed lines a bit).

Yes, because the above image doesn't make sense depth-wise to your brain. When looking at it, the brain makes the perspective with the horizon, so objects down the horizon should be closer. But then, you look at it in 3D and suddenly the eyes tells the object far in the horizon are actually the closest objects? The brain is tricked, and tries to make sense of what it sees. And when it can't, it start going full potato resulting in an headache.

The picture below has everything right, so the depth and the perspective are making sense to the brain, so it shows this marvellous 3D picture of a mountain.

To see the effect above, next time you see a 3D film in the theater or at home (if you have a 3D TV), flip the glasses, and you'll see the reversed depth effect.
