Just want to share my first impressions on Elite Dangerous:

So I finally broke and jump into Beta.
Well, I got way more than I could possibly imagine.

First of all - the scale. Finally a realistic 1:1 representation of planets, moons, asteroid belts ect (the fact that the belts are not a flat bitmaps but actually billions of rocks is astounding).

Second - as far as I noticed, the planets and stations are actually orbiting, so every location will looks different almost every time you visit it.
I`m a huge space nerd, and I always wanted something more realistic than most of the space games has to offer. (exception would be of course Space Engine and Orbiter - but there is no really fun game mechanics in those and Kerbal Space Program is downscaled and limited to one system only).
So the fact that I will be able to travel to our solar system and fly through 1:1 size of Satun asteroid belt is fenomenal.

Third - the spaceships feels and looks really cool, lots of systems to take care of and pretty decent semi realistic flight model. I did`t do much fighting yet, but so far it was really awesome. I love the fact that we have inside view with working Trackir.
And of course the simple and easy to manage hud is very well done.

Summing up I`m in a bit of shock that something lakie that is really here and I can be a pat of it. Definite must have for any space pilot.

Pretty nice they made it public but $25 seems a bit excessive for an early access alpha. I've learned from experience to never buy into early access.

Also we have a thread for the general discussion of video games so I merged your post with it. Unless you have enough content for the game it really isn't worth it's own thread.

Well, when you buy the Alpha access, you're actually buying the whole game, considering it will constantly be getting updated. It is pretty much the same thing, I guess.

But still, 25 bucks is a little too much imo. I'm an Alpha tester so I have it for free, but I don't think I'd pay for it

But really, I think Universe Sandbox ² deserves its own thread, considering it is not really a video game

Is it just me, or is No Man's Sky incredibly overhyped? Don't get me wrong, I'd like it to succeed, but so far there is something inside telling me that this will end up being another Spore or Watch_Dogs.

I think it will be great, but I'm kind of scared like you that they might not keep promises...
Guys, what do you think about No Man's Sky? The concept is very similar to SE's one!

Salvo, cant wait for this game! even if it will not be good like in the trailers still for me...will be amazing game.
you need to know that in the trailers we see garden worlds (with lot of life) but this is will be rare. just 10% planets will be with life.
90% from the 10% will be boring life like bacterias and maybe some planets. and just 10% from the 10% will be garden worlds like in the trailers

That's good to know, I would find annoying and unrealistic having 100% "garden planets" with life... wacko

Season 2 was far better than Season 1 in regards to actually having a choice.

Oftentimes users create new threads when they aren't needed. We merge them with relevant existing threads to prevent clutter and lots of dead threads.

If it was your post, do a search for a unique phrase it contained and you should be able to find it if it still exists. And it should, if it was not spam. I never delete a post unless it is both blatant spam and it is the first post of the user who made it (for which I also immediately ban the person). I am fairly sure all our other moderators operate under similar principles. If you made genuine posts and they truly were deleted then we have an issue that must be looked into.

As for moving posts, please note we are not required to inform you that we did so (though I personally usually try to send a quick PM anyway; for what it's worth I haven't moved any of your posts). It is a lot of extra work for us to both relocate posts and tell people that we did so. As the forum rules explain, the onus is on the user to make sure they post in the appropriate place (which isn't at all difficult with a little common sense and reading the descriptions of the sub-forums), and to search for their post if they find it disappears.

Do they really have no evidence? I'm not entirely sure why this is all nonsense.

Everything they have done has been in flashy hyped up videos and shady behind the scenes deals. They have provided no real world existence proof of their claims. They also promised demos that haven't been released, even after 4 years.
