Winners are Boeing and SpaceX. Boeing gets $4.2 billion, SpaceX gets $2.6 billion. And another win for politics as usual.

Well, at least newspace isn't getting entirely screwed.

It's a damn shame to lose the dreamchaser, though.

SpaceShipTwo was conducting the first powered flight test of its new engine. The engine exploded, and the vehicle was destroyed. One pilot is dead, the other is injured.

Very tragic news. sad My heart goes out to the pilots family.

This, combined with the Antares explosion makes for a really bad week for spaceflight.

A very cool render of F9 landed on its barge, as we will hopefully see on the CRS-5 mission in a few weeks. Bonus points if you spotted the guy taking a swim.

Also, a very cool video from a couple months ago, not sure how I missed this one (see original thread here).
