Same here. Gravity, Elysium, and Hobbit Part II are the three films I'm most looking forward to right now.

Hi,

How far do you think we are from making something like this:

http://youtu.be/yZdmrnzddeM

This is Thor Movie's ending scene. I don't know who conceived it but I take this as one of the most beautiful renditions of what we call Universe... together with Space Engine, of course! biggrin

I don't think SpaceEngine ever will include Asgard in its catalogues. smile

Hah !

Sure, no Asgard. But what about these astonishing flying by nebulae and galaxy arms?! Maybe something like that could be done already?
cool

Graphics of that quality are not currently possible in a real-time program, and will not be for years.

Also, this is not an appropriate place for this post, as those are not SpaceEngine videos that you made (nor even SE videos at all). Please be sure to read the forum rules if you haven't already.

This is Thor Movie's ending scene.

Funny that you brought up this movie. I buy 3-4 DVD/Blurays a year, and I happened to buy this on Saturday. I watched it yesterday.

The geography around the town on Tønsberg seen early in the film has really changed a lot in just over a millennium. smile

EDIT: I intended to post this in the totally off-topic thread, but I messed up...

Besides looking silly, I think anyone who knows what's up and what's down on a piano will call the bluff after 5 seconds. And the best way to reveal that you don't know something would be to openly fake it. smile

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

Of course they will. But this is something that you would do in front of people who don't know anything about playing a piano, or who otherwise aren't paying attention to what's being played smile People don't tend to question the "music" being played by someone as long as it sounds reasonably nice.

Freaking anagrams

Good ones, but does anyone have any good palindromes? Those are much harder to construct.

And I've always wondered whether Malayalam is a particular apt language for palindromes.
