Some people at the New Horizons Team have been discussing if those tear-like features are neon rivers or not!!!

W-Wh.. What? I want that to be true!

You mean they were talking about it 4 years ago, long before we ever got these images.

Anyway, neon rivers on Pluto are physically impossible. Pluto is WAY too warm and has WAY too little atmosphere to support liquid neon. Neon is also only liquid in a very small range of temperatures, so it would change phase very easily. If Pluto were 15K colder and had an atmosphere almost as thick as Earth's, then MAYBE it could have liquid neon. Otherwise, no, not on the surface.

Quote from an old Vladimir's post happy

I had a space dream too when I was a child. In that dream I had traveled from Earth to Pluto in a spaceship that I built myself. I watched how Pluto's image on the main screen grew (well, no windows on a spaceship! ), starting from a faint pixel, then bifurcated on two (Pluto and Charon), then their discs became visible. The next scene - was a strange place with a breathable atmosphere, low gravity and tall buildings, with Pluto and Charon shining in the black skies. Strange creatures, like flying snakes were meandering in the air...

Many years later I was really scared when new moons of Pluto were discovered - Nix and Hydra. I added them immediately to Celestia and wasn't surprised that Pluto and Charon size in the Nix's sky matched with my dream.

Don't be surprise if in 2015 the "New Horizons" will disover an alien base on the Nix, or even if Nix is an alien space station itself

I can't wait to see flying snakes cool
