Animation of clouds, cyclones
Clouds shadows on the landscape
3D clouds with lighting and self-shadowing

I really like these three goals! Sounds very complicated though, would that require high performance of the computer? unsure

Love Space Engine!

I wonder if this program will ever go as far as making entire galaxies move in relation to each other, and being able to see them move if you speed up the time, also if waves on the ocean will be added, rain effect, exotic forests, stuff like that..

Why is the list not yet updating? Still working on the marked items on the list?

Why is the list not yet updating?

Because SpaceEngineer is extremely busy working on much more important things than keeping this list up to date.

Just watch him say that he spent all of his time making everything on the program more blue...

(No offence, Blue is a good thing smile ).

I was wrong, this forum still has a horrible community.

I really like how in 0.97, there is far more variety in the type of stars close up (football shaped, sunspots etc).

However, it would still be nice to see the surface of stars churning under convection when you slide the time scale up. I've seen this kind of thing done countless times in demos and the like (just google or youtube for animated noise textures and I'm sure you'll find something like what I'm talking about) so I can't imagine it would be particularly difficult to add for someone already skilled enough to generate a procedural universe wink

While we are on the subject, animated clouds would also be really nice (rather than just orbiting the planet). Then again, since I read somewhere else on the forum that the cloud system was eventually going to be overhauled anyway, maybe there's not much point bringing this up.

---------------------------------------------
Forgot to add, the sunspots should actually be like holes or pits in the stars surface (see here).
Here is another great picture, showing how the convective granulation is really inhibited in the sunspot (something so do with magnetism). So really, when you fly in close it would be best in the bumps disappeared and you had a flat surface, almost as if the sunspot is a 'crater' in the star. Well, it's probably nothing like that in reality but this is the closest we can approximate with a 'solid' surface.

Animated star surfaces and better clouds have been suggested many times before.

I'm still not quite sure how animated star surfaces would work, but all I do know is that it won't be added for a while.

I meant it should look like it's 'bubbling' when you turn the time speed up. At the moment, it's realistic looking but only a snapshot.

That's animated. I'm quite sure the current terrain generator doesn't support that.

SE is a scientifically accurate Universe simulator, then one day it will implement ALL space objects and phenomenon that are known to modern astronomy.

Hi, I recently stumbled upon SE and am amazed by it. One of the things that stood out to me was this: with software that has such a large scale and so many features being added to it, are there any long term development plans? For example, do you have any visions for Space Engine 3, 4, 5 years from now?

Once again, thank you for this absolutely stunning piece of software.
