I was wondering what each of the velocity units represented?
For example I know that kmh is kilmoters per hour, AU is astronomical unit and c is speed of light. But what do the others represent because I could find them anywhere.

Theyre PC/s and and MPC/s if i remember correctly.

Thanks

Parsecs, KiloParsecs (Kpc, one thousand Parsecs), Megaparsecs (Mpc - one million parsecs), and gigaparsecs (Gpc, a billion of them).

I'm going to assume you know about metres and centimetres.

The ring textures are 2 pixel wide and many pixel long images. How do they work? I ask because I noticed that some Solar System ring textures have identical upper and lower pixels, wereas others have them different. Do they describe ring properties as they are lit from the front and from the back? Or something else?

They let me use this!

Yes, they describe front and back lit textures.. Length is just however long is needed to give the appropriate radial detail in the rings.

I don't remember, just take Saturn's ring texture and stretch it vertically to see which is which. But I think up is back and down is front.

Im pretty sure that this is the correct thread:
On what version were planets with really eliptical orbits removed?
Because i really liked them and i want to "visit" them.

All planets have always had elliptical orbits. But if you mean eccentric orbits, I think they were removed in 0.97.

Hi, guys!

I used the search function but I cannot seem to find what I'm looking for but I got a question for you, will there be any scenery like trees, buildings, etc on the planet earth in SE eventually? Thanks!

Cheers,
Vincent

Why is the luminosity of Eta Carinae only 15000 or so solar units, when in reality it is at least 1 million solar luminosities and may be as high as 5 million?

Because SE doesn't calculate the dimming effect of dust and gas between distant stars and the Solar System, so the only way to show accurate apparent magnitudes is by getting true luminosities either wrong or very wrong.

They let me use this!
