I have added the unconfirmed planets.
Gliese 581 G is set as a life planet.
Planet d is tidally locked. Not accurately, give it a few million years and see what'll likely happen. I know the shadow moves across the surface but due to its orbit, it'll go right back and forth which is why we need some special rendering setting that will put vegetation across that area and not the whole planet.
If there is a line of code that will automatically tidally lock a planet for me, that would be nice to know.
I have classified the planets, added a few other measurements that were not included (mean anomalies, radius).
I have removed the original four from the exoplanet catalog so I could improve their accuracy.

This was done in version .9.6.1
Make sure you back up any files you overwrite.

In 0.9.6.2 planets G and F are included. Why you don't use 0.9.6.2?

SE makes this automatically. Only if a planet has a very dense atmosphere, the effective heat transfer may make its climate homogeneous.

SE makes this automatically too, if you don't specify the rotation parameters.

Oh. I didn't realize. Sorry. I'm kind of a N00b. I got it when it was .9.6.1 and I was about to update. I didn't think they'd actually put them into the next one as they are unconfirmed, but I did notice that the Mean Anomaly was excluded in the orbital data file of the first four. Which I have added in here if that is useful to anyone.

So how would I influence the engine to line up vegetation on the Day/Night barrier?

Thanks.

Also, an interesting thing to note is that because of the orbit, Gliese 581 would actually rise and set on the same side of the planet as it swings out during the Winter and in during the Summer causing variations on where the Sun is in the sky.

The best fit for a 6 planet solution in Gl 581 is for planets with circular orbits. They would have no eccentricity and therefore the variations you are talking about would not exist.

Play with atmosphere pressure and greenhouse effect. Also play with "climateXXXX" parameters in the editor.
