Some work to be done:

Milkyway ( alternative model, artwork )
This is a great model, which artwork is it? I like to use it instead of old Milky Way model, but if this is not your own artwork, we may have a troubles with copyright... The same for two Random galaxies models.

AM 0644
All seems ok.

Arp 273
This galaxy looks like two or three separate galaxies that are on different distances and overlapping on the image. Is it possible to make separate models for them? I think it is very hard...

NGC 7318a & NGC7318b ( Stephan's Quintet )
The same for this two galaxies.

NGC7319sq ( Stephan's Quintet )
On the Earth's sky this galaxy is far away from other Stephan's Quintet galaxies. Is there some mistake in coords?

NGC4921
Why does this galaxe is black & white? Does you not found a color image?
Also, that does the "bis" mean?

Random galaxy ( artwork )
Random galaxy 2 ( artwork )
Many models for a galaxy class is unsupported, so I don't really want to include these models in the patch. However, I will take a look on my code, may be the implementing several models per class is quite easy.

Some galaxies have noticeable red hue, probably caused by redshift. Can you eliminate it and make galaxies colors more natural?

Also, please chack all textures again, they must have no gray frame.

I had previously done work on the Milky Way art model as well, but I was never satisfied enough to release it; mostly it was the dust model that wasn't finished, the sys model worked very well. Would you like to have my files for that model too?

Yes of course smile However, we have one Milky Way, so mabe we shall make a poll which model will be dafault for next few versions smile

There is no trouble with copyright, it is public domain image.

Okay, I will send you my most recent work on that model soon.

EDIT: I just realized, my work was on my edited version of that image, which includes the 5 kiloparsec ring (which may not really exist). So it's not really the same model. But mine is color corrected to better match what the color of the Milky Way should be.

If someone can really make the art worked texture, take a look of this REAL DATA image of hydrogen/dust distribution in the Milky Way:

Thanks SpaceEngineer, that will made my work easier !
The 1rst thing I have to do, is to have photoshop..

Milkyway
I indeed found the art work on wiki, It really look like this artwork+ M51 resised.

Arp 273

I think it's possible but gallaxy UGC 1810 ("2") will be very deformed.

stephan s quintet
I'll do the 3thrd galaxy and It will be great to add a Elliptic galaxy too.

Is there some mistake in coords?
yes, I've just put them "close" to each other without any coordinates references, none of them have the good coordinates ( location ) other wise I had to modify the other one with the same name in the catalog, and i'm not really very comfortable with it yet.

NGC4921

I used this pics , I tought the galaxy was quite black & white.
the "bis" mean nothing beside 2nd, I've put it for the same reason of above, I did not wanted to modify originals galaxies with this Addon.

cool It would be really cool.

That's exactly what it is; the author used that NASA artwork and an image of M51 and created his work smile
When I did my own edit to add the 5kpc ring (my old avatar) I also used the same image of M51.

I can correct the textures if you don't have the software.

You should try using GIMP, it is really great for this sort of work, and free and open source. I prefer it instead of Photoshop unless working with extremely large files (like the 64k Mercury map).

All depend If these texture will be on next patch or not, I don't like to work quick.. so if you wanna correct them for the next patch , be my guest !
Otherwise I'll do a more precise texture of all these models and other news , and send it to you for review/ correction. ( i'm just throwing idea here )

I'll look this, thanks !

Well, I'll not include the new Milky Way model in this patch, because the new model will change all procedural stuff in the Milky Way. It is better to include it in the next version (as long as every new version usually has changed the procedural algorithms). Also this give more time for those who want to make a new artworked Milky Way texture.

New galaxies:

AM 0644
Arp 273/UGC 1813

New models for existing galaxies:

There should also be a model for Sbd galaxies, it appears there is none for those galaxy types. sad

Perfect SpaceEngineer .
I'm quite sure that I've made a error in the name of Arp 273/UGC 1813 , it's not UGC 1813 but UGC 1810 .

You're on time! I just started uploading the patch and will break it down to fix that!
