OMG. Historical supernovas!!!!

  • SN 1572 (seen by Tycho and Giordano Bruno 444 years ago)
  • SN 1604 (seen by Kepler 412 years ago)
  • Cassiopea A (wasn't seen by anyone due to interstellar dust 300 years ago)

I recomend adding to this list in the far future if you want smile

  • SN 1006 (seen by native americans, the chinese and medieval egyptians 1010 years ago)
  • W49B (no documented observation 1016 years ago)
  • SN 185 (seen by the chinese and the romans 1831 years ago) <------ the problem with this is that if visible it would look bigger than the moon in the sky
  • G1.9+0.3 (no documented observation 110 years ago)
  • SN 1181 (seen by chinese and japanese 835 years ago)

This is spectacular bambusman. Thanks for the hard effort

SN 1006

this snr and g1.9+0.3 are already in the game, but they need a little bit more work.
the rest is ok except sn 185, because of the image but i can look if i can use it.

Hornblower, simonecinque1992, and FastFourierTransform, Thank you!

IKR, I wish I had a time machine so I could go 10 years or so into the future and see how much cooler games will be

Would be great if the 'Eta Carinae Nebula'' in 'SpaceEngine' would look like this.

And a good place to search for signals from extraterrestrials.

I bet that there are tourists there. Which tweet their friends how great it looks up close. biggrin

Don't forget to look here.

well keep in mind, these images are of how it looked 7,500 years ago. Imagine how diffuse it would be in real time

This is always the case when we look in the universe for signals.

When we eventually detect any signals that are artificial, the sender may no longer exist.

But I believe that a highly developed civilization would send research vessels or robotic probes to a star like 'Eta Carinae', to examine him. The probes would perhaps send signals to their home world, that we might receive with Seti. Maybe.

Although the star and the nebula would probably be a strong radio interference source.

Don't forget to look here.

What makes you think that aliens would use radio? They may use something completely different that we are missing in our searches for life. Maybe they evolved past a physical state? And are invisible to us with no proof of their existence?
