Klud, here is the code for the red light side. This gives you a mostly white center with a consistent red glow.

Code
Material    "ws_Light"
{
    DiffColor       (1.000 1.000 1.000)
    SpecColor       (0.900 0.900 0.900)
    SpecPower        3
    EmisBright       777
    EmisColor       (1.000 0.001 0.001)
    EmisMap         "Warp_ship/maps/Light_white.*"
    DiffMap         "Warp_ship/maps/Light_white.*"
    SpecMap         "Warp_ship/maps/Light_white.*"
}

The updated blue light looks good, looks better than the one I quickly threw together happy

I changed the red and blue light as your advice, now better. Thanks.

You made a typo on the blue glow in the mtl. You called the EmisBright cvar EmisPower which would make it nonfunctional and default to 1 instead of your set value of 2.

Ship looks good though, will probably just link to yours in my future thread instead of the IXS I had before.

Ship looks good though

Totally agree.

Just imagine how it will be when Reflections and Ambient Occlusion will be implemented... (I'm not sure if it's planned)

Totally agree too. Just imagine, on top of that, spacecraft casting shadows on itself and on other spacecrafts and celestial bodies cry

It has been corrected.

Hey, Klud! If I give you a few Lightwave models, could you convert them for use in SE for me? I've got a couple of really great Defiant class ships, as well as nearly all of the shuttlecraft we've ever seen, but I have no idea how to convert the textures, which you seem to have figured out...

How do we get the ISX Enterprise to shine like in the picture?

By the way, your IXS Enterprise model is awesome. It's like the quintessential ship to use for interstellar space travel (in the realm of possible future tech). It has a believability about it that looks functional. However I am curious to certainty aspects of this ship. I can't find any explanations on the internet about its size, weight, power, or what the red light or blue light is supposed to be? Are those landing modules on the top and bottom of fuselage? If so, is there a model of the Landers or are they just escape pods? Is the front of the ship supposed to detach and if so is it intended to renter atmospheres or is it only a safe guard? Are those cylinders around the fuselage propellant reserves, or are they working stations?

Increasing the specular shine will work to a point but exactly replicating that is not possible since that is done with reflections which SE does not support yet.

I don't think such things have been discussed much, but you can estimate a bit of that from the 10m diameter that the rings are supposed to be.

Closest you will find is Rademaker's album

No, the ship is only designed for spaceflight.

It is supposed to detach and function, possibly, as a shuttle for landing.

"Increasing the specular shine will work." I can't find out how to do that. Do I need another program to view and edit ship settings?

The SML file and Specular settings, they can be edited in any text editing program.

So I seen some pretty interesting pictures of the IXS models on that website (IXS Clarke) that explain a little.
However I stumbled across the IXS development models. The dimensions and visual model is throwing off my perception on how big this thing really is. A man standing in the command module is shown to be this size.
But In Space Engine, the smaller IXS model compared to a human dwarfs its intended design $IMAGE3$
Not a huge deal or anything, its just when we are able to dock IXS with real sized ships, it reminds me of the size of the J.J. Enterprise. I'm not sure if the astronauts are too small or what but i'm really clueless on how to change the size myself if it is possible for I cant find anything on forums but ship editor..
