0.9.7.1 catalog tweak (v1.3) [download link] (requires v1.0 of this addon)

To install, replace your old KerbolSystem.sc file with this one.
Only for users who downloaded this addon before 1st of March, 2014.

**NEW** KSP spaceships!!

This is a small (WIP) pack of 4 ships from Kerbal Space Program. They are simply .DAE spaceship part models ripped from the game and then assembled in Blender, and exported to SpaceEngine (except for the small station). This pack includes:


  • A simple rocket
  • A basic, simple station (SOURCE: Model on SketchFab) (in-game name 'Kerbal Station')
  • The Kerbina spacestation, which inspired by this: (addon on KerbalSpacePort)
  • Space Shuttle Vanguard by NovaSilisko

    Model credits:
    Some of the parts were made by NovaSilisko (for example this one) as part of his Silisko Edition mod for KSP and others were made by Squad. The Vanguard shuttle is completely made by NovaSilisko...


    +bonus:

    NovaSilisko's poroposed KSP planets, inspired from this thread on the Kerbal Space Program forum.
    Includes artistic impressions of possible future KSP planets and moons such as a second gas giant, Daphy, Potatus etc.
    No textures included. Requires Kerbal Space Program addon (download link above)

    screenshots with * are with real brightness on
    ** sizes of the planets, their orbits and other physical properties are similiar to the REAL solar system and NOT to the Kerbol system found in Kerbal Space Program.

    For those who are less interested in downloading over 660 MB of texture data, there also exists another lightweight KSP addon which can be downloaded here and uses only procedural texture data (except for Jool):

    I'm sorry but recently I have been inactive on it. I am currently working on it again so you can expect it to be released around 31th of August

    Hello!!! Sorry for being inactive on this project lately, I might work on it again later and I must say the large textures are sometimes slow and laggy. The textures are also very large files, about 39 MB each.

    Don't use them as single textures, split them up into tiles with CubeMap. In the future this will probably be mandatory for all SE planet textures.

    I tried but the problem is I don't know how to convert .png to .raw files?? Please help (I have GIMP)

    There are many programs you can use for this. GIMP, Photoshop, and IrfanView all work.

    Yep, but they are alot faster to load now smile

    Great work on the Kerbol system ! I tried doing a KSP Mod for SE but I canceled it because it caused too many problems.
    Did you scaled values by a factor (ie: Kerbin radius * 60 and same for every scalable parameter)? What did you got for the Sun? Did you use SE's procedural features for the "revamping" ? Have you found a working atmosphere for Jool?

    UPDATE: I will continue working on this addon now. Please note that each texture folder will be around 105 MB, plus about 11 MB from some smaller 2k textures. In total, it will be about 577 MB. Because of Mediafire's free 200 MB limit, you will probably have to download each texture seperately, plus the catalog files. I will just upload it to Google Drive instead
