I think that would be the first one. Noctis was kind of a role playing game.

No, I'd never heard of Noctis before joining this forum, I still know nothing about it. You're not the only one.

Yes it can, it must be run in Windows XP 32 bit (needs full screen mode). I have managed to run it under DosBox smile

I'll try to fetch my config, and if I find it, i'll post it here wink

EDIT: Found it, here is my config file (create a file, name it noctis.conf and copy/paste my code inside the spoiler)

noctis.conf

Run dosbox with this command:

dosbox -conf noctis.conf (or create a batch file named noctis.bat and save it with this command)

NOTE: I'm using scaler=advinterp3x to increase the size of the window, but depending on your hardware, you may want to set scaler=advinterp2x or scaler=none and set the fullcreen=true. Keep in mind that the larger the scaler, the faster must be your hardware

Actually, it was pretty cool back then... I agree that today its not very fun. For a 1MB game, at the time I was impressed. Unfortunately Noctis V never came out.

Voted the pool. happy

I think so too. I play the occasional RPG but I am not big into the whole RP part of it.

What's wrong with roleplaying games? It is such a vast category, that you can't really hate all of them.

Bunch of RPG haters up in here, what is this?

And I don't think anyone needs to worry about SE becoming some kind of true RPG. I'm pretty sure that's not what Vladimir has in mind.

I think at first he thought to make a HD version of Celestia/Noctis biggrin
I tried to play Noctis and is very good, and I hope Space Engine will become similar to Noctis...
The only thing I don't like of Noctis it's that the spaceship is very hard (for me) to control, and it crashes many times because I have a 64x os.
