This Last.fm station is the only thing I listen to while playing space engine. It is amazing and I need to share this with everyone! http://www.last.fm/listen/globaltags/Space%20Ambient
It is called "Space Ambient". It fits perfectly.

PC specs: Windows 7 64 bit. Intel Core i5-2400 quad-core (3.1GHz, 6MB Cache). 6GB DDR3-1333MGz SDRAM[2 DIMMs]. 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive. 3GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 545.

Here I will post some of my favorite spacey music. I'll edit this post with new stuff to avoid spam, so check back every now and then smile

Sometimes, on long trips at night, I would pull into a side road in the country, get out, look up at the sky, and pump this song. M83 is amazing, and, if it weren't obvious, they are named after a galaxy!

The Social Network soundtrack is incredible. Also NIN's "Ghosts", some of which they used for the movie.

This will keep you up at night.

Any soundtrack by Thomas Newman.

Also just an awesome video.

Oh man, wouldn't it be neat for planets to generate their own music, ala Proteus? Like, keep it spacey, but the same parameters used for generating the planet generate the music used in that area of space.

That would be really sweet for space engine but I think it wouldn't fit with what space engineer is trying to do ya know.

Singing planets/moons/stars would be really nice:

There are a few more examples on youtube.

If spaceengine had a noise generator the rest would be easy with all the parameters in there already.
