I am always looking for planets with life and adding them to my locations. The best place to look for systems with life is pressing F3, going to the planet with the Thick Green Atmosphere (I think it says), then clicking on random planets.

Whatever you want it to mean. Could be silicon life, could be some strange artificial life, or could be something else completely unknown to science but has properties that look like life. Exotic is merely a listing of an unknown type of life.

This. Since the word 'Exotic' replaces the word 'Organic' in the description of the type of life, I just take it to mean 'Life based on something other than Carbon'
