Here's mine, I took it in the star system "scr" or something like that. It is taken from the closest planet to the star. The system was binary, and you may be asking yourself "Well, where's the other star?", it was actually a black hole. I tried taking the picture while the black hole was in transition, but it would have probably been too small to notice.

Nice colors DeathStar, and also welcome to the Space Engine forum.

Seeing a black hole from a planet is very rare, but it could be very instructive for an eventual civilisation that raise in such a system.

Also, you should try this mod for better-looking stars.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yes indeed, it would have been very scientifically useful for any civilization that would arise on a planet orbiting such a star system, but chances of a planet with life in a star system with a black hole are very slim (all of the planets would have been fried in the supernovae). The star system is "sgr" and the black hole is actually kind of buggy- it collides with the star on some occasions.

Thanks for the link to the mod, it looks epic- stars look much better with it. I shall post new pictures if I am able to find anything interesting.

Hello!

After reading about Space Engine on Rock Paper Shotgun yesterday I decided to give it a try, and I absolutely love it. Today I found this planetary system that I'd like to share with you. It is a temperate terra with life and its moon is also a temperate terra with life.

(click thumbnails to embiggen)

My system crashes very easily with high terrain LOD settings so I'd love it if someone else would go and grab some beautiful screenshots from the planet's and moon's surfaces. Here is the location code:
Code
Place    "Life terra planet and life terra moon"

To the creator of this wonderful game/thing I just want to say: Thank you smile When I'm no longer a poor student I'll be sure to remember to donate to this awesome project of yours.
