^ Is that procedurally generated or did you do something to make it (or is it an illusion)?

I've found that galaxies near other galaxies is frustratingly rare in the procedural regions of SE. Satellite galaxies and interacting galaxies are common in the known universe, and it'd be nice to get some cool views of nearby galaxies out in procedural space too, but alas, in virtually every case every galaxy appears as merely a point when viewed from any other. What exceptions there are are almost invariably a huge 100kpc galaxy that's only visible as more than a point, because, well, of its size :\

So if you actually found a galaxy that just happened to spawn right on top of another one, that's pretty remarkable!

First things first, yes that is what happened!

Second of all, the place is NGC 6902A-1 , meaning it is catalougued.

However, when I did the research, it's actually just another boring barred spiral galaxy in reality.
no galaxies are next to it in reality.

oic. A procedural galaxy spawned on top of a catalogue galaxy. Still impressive, but less suited to my purposes xD

how did you do that?

Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space.

JackDole, that stuff is impressive! the only problem living there is, there is no night.

I would rather say that somehow the code messed up and the spiral galaxy spawned inside the irregular galaxy.

Why is that a disadvantage? One can save a lot of electricity. dry
