DoctorOfSpace, Rodrigo, do you actually use some terrain's mods? You're photos seems so realistic! (more than usual)

Salvo, I'm using Doc's planet palletes and my planet color distortion Mod ( http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-1994-1 )

Mid-afternoon on a desert planet orbiting a white dwarf in a star cluster in an uncharted galaxy.

A recreation of this image, taken at the same time, in-engine (roughly)

I kinda forget how did I got here -- very easy to get lost in the Universe. But anyway I tried to find interesting systems to check out. Most recently was trying to find brighter-than-or-equal-to-Yellow-Dwarf star systems with life in it. (Because life within Red Dwarf systems are simply just wayyyyy too many) And I found one with like 6 of 7 planets that have life on them.

And I found the 3rd planet of it to be quite like Earth, especially with a relatively large selena. Temperature is a bit too high and atmosphere bit too thin, not very big of problems. One bad thing is it's too tilted.

It's RS 5507-461-7-1545043-2 3-3.1 if I got it from my places log right.

So I changed my desktop image again.

A few other images.

This one is as the above, only further away. And around a double star. And without auroras.

Sometimes the overly colourful nature of SE's rings can be used to great effect.

And finally who pinched a hole in the sky?

(This last one is actually weird. The "hole" is an eclipse shadow... which I believe would look very, very different in reality)

They let me use this!

In reality light would likely scatter more, and to get something like that I think the sun needs to be very small in the sky, just a dot, the eclipsing body, or rather its shadow, must be small and the atmosphere must be thin or the shadow is seen on a layer of haze or clouds.

I saw the eclipse in Europe in 1999 and it was somewhat cloudy, but that gave another sight: in the beginning and the end it was possible to see the edge of eclipse shadow cross the sky. It went very fast.
