Here´s one of the most beautiful places I´ve been. It´s a small terra moon on a nearby galaxy. It is mostly covered by oceans, with some small scattered islands.

One of the islands is a true paradise. It has amazing cliffs and mountains, includind the biggest i´ve seen. It rises above the cloud layer, more than 10000 m high.

Well, can you think about a good name for it?
You can explore that place here:

Place "mystic island"

Great find Rodrigo! That does look like paradise, I wouldn't mind living there wink
I wish I could explore it more, but my graphics card doesn't have much VRAM sad
Again, really nice find

Very nice Rodrigo, That's the first time I've seen a planet with the mountains passing through clouds. Excellent find!

Dont´t worry about VRAM, HarbingerDawn. I only have 128 Mb, and i can play. Of course, i do it on 800 x 600, with LOD -2. Still my FPS goes between 5-7.

in fact, i like it this way. i keep imagining it is lag from the probe´s telemetry biggrin

Haha yeah well I guess I've just gotten used to 1920x1080, which doesn't look so good with LOD -2 (actually it fails to load properly at least 50% of the time). I think I'll take a cue from you and switch to a lower res while exploring. Interstellar probes have to save badwidth somehow wink

Wow, that's amazing! That mountain is crazy, that planet's version of Mount Everest.

Maybe it's time for a "Biggest mountain in the universe" challenge? cool

RILLES!

This image was created from several individual images taken from a probe that landed right on the edge of a rille on a cold ice moon, which orbits a gas giant (which can be seen left of center) along with four other moons.
The left edge is looking to the southeast and extends through the west to the northeast at the rightmost edge of the image. The rille itself is several thousands kilometers long, in this panoramic view it stretches over about 200 km from horizon to horizon, it has a width of approximately 11.5 kilometers and has an average depth of about 1 kilometer. With the probe sitting right on the eastern top of the edge of the rille, it gives a amazing overview of this surface feature. To the right of the image center, the rille drops into and stretches across a large shallow crater which has a diameter of about 138 kilometers.

I love SE! smile
